Default DCT not Rev matching

Hi Guys,

After some advice if anyone can help. My car is a DCT and when im D3/S3 or anything below the car does not rev match anymore when gearing down manually and make that blipping sound. If i gear down the revs suddenly drop to 1500 and the car just feels really sluggish for like a second or two then it catches up to my gear change and then makes the sound! What is that about?

Anything in D4/S4 and above it rev matches fine and acts as normal.

No error codes or anything like that. I have noticed that the idle is quite rough and bouncy on cold start and when warmed up when at a standstill the revs seem to be resting lower then normal at around 600rpm.

Please help !

Johnny

That cant be right, in D3 & D2 when i use the paddle to manually gear down it usually rev matches and roars. E.g from 5th gear in Auto (D2 or D3) at like 2000-2500rpm if im approaching a traffic light and gear down very quickly through the gears (4th, 3rd, 2nd) it will blip and roar. This was the case on all 4 of my E92 M3’s including this one up until a few days ago

Mine seems to have the same problem since the weekend. Think I will have to check all the idrive settings incase something has changed

It only throttle-blips in higher gearbox settings, like S5.

It sounds like youíve got it in D2/D3 (auto) and you click the paddles to downshift. This obviously puts it in manual mode - youíve made sure youíre in S4 or S5 when you put it in manual? I always have mine set to D2 and S4 so the auto mode is nice and sedate but it still Rev matches when i manually downshift. They donít rev match in s3 or lower.

This...

Sounds like you have your Manual setting in the idrive set too low... My manual setting is S5 and its ace.

Think that’s normal mate.

For the first time, I drove around in auto the other day in D1 as I was desperately looking for petrol haha. I noticed it starts off in second gear rather than first!

Not sure, it'll be in a higher rev sooner but you might end up putting more throttle to get the thing going so I doubt you'd notice it
