I will say though that the RS3 does nothing for me albeit I think it has a great engine. A faintly inert drive and whilst quicker than everything else in the class feels much heavier and the power attracts a lot of “launch control innit” merchants. Golf R, M2 or A45 for me in this segment.
The engine is a heavy lump but the new one has a alliminium head and is lighter.

Not the most exciting car in the world. But nice sound, interior and usable power all year round.

The new A45 is a good looking car inside and out. The current one is beginning to date now.

I have got a soft spot for the golf r. I know some say they are boring but I disagree. The damping is really good too.

Just got back from an amazing long weekend at the Nürburgring with some fellow cutters and I must say this RS3 is an absolutely hoofin car! We were tanking along all the way there for a start and it only used a tank and a quarter to get there so no snags with fuel economy not that it bothers me. The car was extremely comfortable for the duration, with the tunes pumping via the awesome B&O system. Virtual cockpit was a treat on the navigation front and as for the epic driving that was done, well to say it’s an inert or boring drive then you must be very very ignorant or you’ve only driven it for a quick blast as I assure you this new Facelift RS3 is a weapon and I had a right blast with it, showing a clean set of heels to some epic cars and embarrassing a few big time Charlie’s lol. Car handled great and performed great and finally put a smile on my face from start to finish. I’ve had my exhaust fettled by PCW and it sounds incredible as I’m sure my fellow cutters can attest that went too. All in all do I miss my Comp Pack M3??? Absolutely no chance! Anybody seriously considering this car please don’t listen to all the “cutters blinkered fanboy journalists” just go for it!

Not after starting a slagging off match either! Oh and I got 11.2% discount on my car

having had a RS3 facelift and now a M3 comp i can atest to how good the RS3 is..... drives and handles very well and is quick out the box.....( draggy clocked 3.9s 0-60) and (3.6 with a tuning box)
Mine was fully loaded bar the engine internal carbon... (which was an utter rip off) and ceramics and vmax de limit......

I miss the Virtual cockpit and 4wd but other than that....i love the M3 ZCP

The Audi for me although lovely still looked like an A3 bar the front and rear bumper/ exhausts.....so your really paying for the engine and exhaust note.... interior is similar to the S3/ if not the same if you spec it right......and there just wern't enough buttons to press and play with for me.... i like to see where my money has gone.

With the M3 you now its an M3.......its Swollen everywhere and is deffo on steriods in the body department. Seats , wheels, interior, engine all distinctive

(AUDI REALLY MISSED THE TRICK THERE)...if they made it like the pre FL RS4/RS6.... visually, for me, it would have been more appealing

The M is also bigger for me which is a plus.

Firing off at the lights isnt really a big thing for me coz ive grown out of that.... ill reel you in later...so that didn't bother me

The RWD im used to it... driving a 750 hp RX7 you tend to know when to take it easy when you have no driver aids what so ever!!!....lol

The Quattro 4WD is sublime tho.... and will truly be missed.

Sorry for the rambling but just typing as im thinking......

So in conclusion

RS3

Special engine ,
special 4WD
special Dashboard
Special soundtrack

M3 ZCP

Special Engine
Special soundtrack ( with MPE )
special gearbox DCT
Special interior
Special body/overall road presence

Cheers mate but I’ve got a spring kit already and I’m happy at the moment with regards to the brakes
It’s really interesting to see and hear from guys who come and go between current and previous cars alike

Agree with the looks statement although a pint against BMW is all the M per kit it sells, I’m a car nut but I’ve even had to double glance when quickly passing the odd 335 or 335d with the M parts catalog thrown at it.
