Default Something a little different!

I braved the cold today and snapped a some photos of the new work bus so thought i'd share them with you guys

I'm sure this won't be to many folks taste but i'm blown away by it!
Its a lovely place to be and the tech is fantastic, i was lucky to find this fully spec'd one so no doubt that helps the overall appeal.

Its turn of pace and all-weather ability is massively impressive, if anyone ever gets a chance i highly recommend a test drive. Its not the big wafty barge you would expect, with a lower COG and better weight distribution than most cars. Thats not to say its a drivers car by any stretch but non the less hugely impressive for what it is.

It's refreshing not to have to put fuel in too, especially considering the performance (0-60mph in 3.1 secs) but the real surprise is the instant response.

Lovely car and the right colour.
Had a test drive in one when is was in London last month (Canary Wharf dealership) what a car with serious technology, it is the future I would say with mega 0-60.

Very nice mate!

How do you find interfacing with the large touchscreen, do you ever get used to it?

I prefer buttons/switches, as you don't always need to look (while driving) if that makes sense.

Seems we're going button-less anyway, I think newer Audi's are coming out with dual screens in the consoles too

Respect to you for making the jump. They just don’t appeal to me at all through. Might take a few years for me to jump ship in this direction. For now I’ll keep doing my regular visits to the petrol station and enjoying the sound track.

my friend just got his last week, it was £110,000, great car but for the money not much road presence but to be fair it was very stock looking compared to the one above and missed a exhaust note, but the technology is incredible and the instant accleration is insane.

For the amount of money these cost I'd rather spend the money on something with a shouty exhaust and put the money saved into a fuel fund :P Saying that I would like to experience the acceleration

Cheers buddy, yeh its strange at first but the way you can destroy most things on the road in silence adds its own 'event' tbh. No doubt there will be times i want the sound, but theres always times when you don't.

If you look at the cars in the same sector (7 series/S-class etc) they all try to reduce the engine/transmission noise and make a smooth seamless drive, this leaves them for dead in that sense.

Thanks Andy, Its cost me pretty much nothing to charge up to now, as i've been charging using the supercharger network which is free for life.
A full charge at home from empty would cost me around £6 though.

Cheers Davie, yeh the performance is crazy and it goes deeper than just looking at the figures. The instant acceleration makes anything else feel somewhat lethargic as you'll no doubt know after your test drive

Yeh certainly looks to be going that way! I'm used to it already and i have only had the car a short while! Its no different from getting used to where all your apps etc are on a smartphone.

Cheers mate, they are a strange thing in the sense that most dismiss them until they drive one. I'm honest enough to admit i certainly did!

Yeh its fantastic tech, i must say you are the first i've met to have that opinion! Out of all the people i have shown it (over 100 people - mostly clients and friends) the most common thing people said was it was very maserati/jaguar like, some even said Aston Martin!

I personally agree with the Maserati/jaguar opinion.

Totally get you buddy and each to their own, as i said above i didn't have any interest in them before trying one and that wouldn't of happened had it not made financial sense to do so due to my mileage.

I'd certainly try one if you ever get the chance though, it might not be for you even after a go but i'd put money on the fact you will walk way hugely impressed.

I'm not sure how much my car was new but i would guess over £90k, i payed just over £60k for mine (65 plate, 12k miles, high spec)
Still a lot of money to me, but the saving are huge for me in fuel, servicing, tax etc)

Yeh totally with you, without all the spec and correct bits they don't stand out particularly but i guess most cars without the 'right' extras do.

They are a lot of money but with the performance, tech and hugely cheap running costs still a competative price. I guess you need to do the mileage to justify the price.

If you are ever local you are welcome to buddy

I'd rather a big dirty V10 maybe not everyday but certaily on occasion too, but with my mileage the servicing and fuel costs don't make it viable.

As i have said to a few people, try get a test drive in one they genuinely impress you and get under your skin!

As said above, out of all the people that have seen mine the resounding opinion seems to be that it looks very Maserati/Jag like.
I personally think a trip to specsavers is due if you think it looks like a Mazda

But each to their own!

I take it you do have to take it for a service or inspection etc? Any idea on the costs and what they do?

Interestingly Tesla told me that if buying cash you don't have to have it services and warranty is unaffected the only reason on finance you do is its a condition of the pcp.

Apparently they do a service pack which is £2k over 4 Years, if you sell the car before that you get refunded what you havenít used.

I didnít bother with it as it doesnít affect warranty and being a ex mechanic, I can do/check the main bits myself
