Default Grand Tour - Renault hate?

A few clips posted this week of their new driver audition for series 2.

Not usually one to whine about them wrecking cars, but these motors still seem to have plenty of life left in them.... or maybe a plate check says different?

On a German car forum, its ok to hate Renaults. My only 2 experiences with Renault.

1 Part owner or a Renault Trafic van, 3 new engines and 2 new gearboxes
2 Test drove a Renault 5 GT Turbo, first corner I got to, turned in - understeer, had to literally wrench it through.

Renaults are cheap French cars, if you love them, then fine enjoy, but for me, I hate them

Its all a bit trying to much, much to hard now with these clowns!! I never thought I would ever say this as nobody could speak down about my man Clarkson...!!!

Was a big fan of these 3 on top gear over the years, the Gande tour series 1 was OK, just OK, but with a "must do better" for next time approach.

Now I find it damn right cringworthy, I can't look anymore !! So so disappointing as I am a "Or used to be" a massive Clarkson fan.

Started watching the Grand Tour after Top Gear went pop. Was really excited about the Grand Tour, the while family was!!. Unfortunately had to abandon it half way through the first season. It's absolute rubbish. I can't stand the 3 of them now. I NEVER ever thought I would say that. Such a shame. Old Top Gear is on permanent 're runs in our house.

The grand tour was so overhyped. I genuinely thought it was awful especially with all the talk of huge budgets. I too find all three of them cringey and try hard

Oh come on...new Top Gear is woefully bad. Its an embarrassment to TV which is reflected by plunging viewer figures.
At least TGT raises the odd chuckle, something new TG doesn't manage.

I like Le Blanc in the later episodes, he has matured. Chris has to bigger tongue, like Sam Smith, and sleerrrs / lispths and he irritates the hell out of me, but he is a better driver than me, just, so Ill remain calm!!

Top Gear came out on top IMO.

I watched half of GT, if that, and lost interest. The three of them have lost that edge. Still loosely entertaining, but no longer ‘must-watch’.

They’re both **** imo, the black fella on top gear is rubbish as a presenter and is only there to appeal to the ‘YouTube’ hip generation which fails imo.
Chris Harris just wants to base every single car on how it drifts which gets boring after 10 mins of watching a car go sideways, matt le blanch is ok but looks like he’s got the get up and go of a tortoise with asthma.

Problem with the grand tour is that the top gear days were mates that had moulded the show over the years, the grand tour is trying to manufacture the same chemistry which is impossible

pretty much agree with all of that.

cant stand roary read, the way he says 'BRAYKE HORSEPOWER' does my head in ,as if he's just been told what to say and memorised it word for word what a particular set of cars have. when he was in the golf clubsport S with sabine ****z i was cringing.

le blanc is a lot better than i expected, and chris harris doesn't suit the show when with other presenters or guests. prefer watching him alone with a car, but drifting everything does get boring.

lookout in the new GT for a bond bug with the plate 'CNT 944L'..................

I like Matt as well...its the other two who are registered charisma free zones and completely out of their depth...no chemistry at all between them.
I think Top Gear still has potential but they need to get in a couple of new presenters with proper broadcasting and comedy skills.

Agree, matt le blanc carries the show well.

Worth noting with TGT series 2 the american is gone (obviously), and they've put an end to the celeb brain crash $hite... shows they are listening

I saw James may and Richard Hammond few days ago on the m40 going to London in a white McLaren with a private plate *** Mcl
There was a lot of traffic and they were by my side for a while.
I thought of taking a pic but they seemed as if they didn't want anyone to acknowledge them so I just carried on as normal.

I hope episode 3 is better than episode 2...which was a bit dreary.
Episode 1 at least was watchable.

You should give them another chance my Megane Trophy was built far better than the e46 325 that replaced it and a million times more interesting to drive at a lower cost and the 182 I had before it was spot on too

I watched the first series of GT, and it was terrible. 2 epsiodes into series 2 and at least they've lost the bits that were completely cringeworthy and utterly crap from series 1.

However, the last season of TG i actually liked more than I thought I would. Matt Le Blanc holds the show together well, and I've been pleasantly surprised by him.

Chris Harris is marmite, but I like marmite, so I am not bothered by him. I can see how he can be annoying, but he can drive.

Rory Reid either needs to actually drive some proper cars, and actually feel like less of an afterthought, or they just need to give up on him and grab someone else. Personally, I think Sabine would be a good replacement, as she has got character, although somehow I don't see that happening really.

Neither though are as good as top gear was though, but the latest incarnation of Top Gear was good, and it'd be nice to see if they improve next season.
