Default How to add pictures to your posts

Looks like people are struggling to add their photos, so I'll write a quick guide on how to do it. Check back here later today.

There are two methods to adding pictures and photos to your posts. The first method is using the forum image up loader. The second is to use an image hosting website such as Postimage, Flickr, Tinypic or Google Photos and linking to these images in your forum posts. Both methods are detailed below:

Method 1 – Using the forum image uploader

This method has been disabled. Use method 2 below.

Method 2 - Using a photo hosting service like Flickr.

Photobucket decided to ruin their service recently, so we recommend using Postimage, Flickr, Tinypic or Google Photos now. I'll write a guide shortly.

Now we need to go back to the forum. When making your reply – it is better to go to Advanced mode by clicking the button shown above. This will take you to the screen below:

You see here, I’ve pasted the image code I copied from Photobucket. You can now make your reply as usual, including as many images as you like. All you have to do is go back to Photobucket, copy the next link and paste it in your post. Clicking the Preview Post button will replace this code with the actual image/s.

Use the Preview Post button as many times as you need until you get your post right, with your images and text in the correct order etc etc. Once you have simply click the Submit Reply button – and your job is done.

Ok guys, the guide has been updated to reflect the current incarnation of the Photobucket website. You can post for help in here but do NOT post test pictures. Post your test images in the test forum... And of course make sure your pictures don't break any rules.

Not so easy when you only have an iPhone though is there a way to do it via mobile?

I have just been investigating uploads via iPhone... Best method I found was to use the photobucket app. It will access your phones photo album and allow you to upload. Once you have uploaded your pics, view the photo in full screen via the 'albums' tab. Then tap on the 'share' icon (generic folder with an arrow icon) and this gives you the required URL to copy and paste onto your post. For those that are unaware, to copy, you simply hold your finger on the middle of the URL text and an option to paste should appear. And the same method makes a copy option appear when in the post/reply box. Hope this helps someone

Er, substitute copy for paste at the end... Fumbled words haha.

Yep, this is the only decent way as far as I know, to do it with an iPhone. I'll update the guide shortly and include this.

Also, please don't post your tests in here people, post your test posts in the test forum, thanks.

Help....

I'm not the best at IT anyway, but I had mastered Imageshack and could post pictures without problems. Once loaded I could right click, choose the 'forum' option and copy & paste.
They have now changed it and I can't even find any instructions or even any helpful advice.

Anybody ??
Please.............

I use Imgur, as it's piss easy compared to the Photobucket stuff above.

Here's a quick guide I knocked up as I'm so bloody nice:

1. Go to Imgur - it's an image hosting site.

2. Click on the Upload Images button at the top of the screen:

3. Click on the Browse Your Computer icon:

4. Browse to where the picture is you want to upload & select it:

*Note - You can select multiple images here, if you highlighted all of the pictures in this folder it would upload all of them & you can then browse each to copy the links after.

5. Click the Start Upload button:

6. Here's where your picture is hosted, & all of the corresponding links to copy, or you can edit the size of the picture or even rotate it if it has uploaded upside down etc (to edit it click the Edit Image link at the top of this page above all the Facebook/Twitter/Google+ icons etc)

7. I'd recommend re-sizing the image to a Large Thumbnail, as usually the original image is about the same size as the moon. Once you have clicked to change the size you can copy the BBCode link - highlighted here:

8. Come back to your post & paste the link. You can preview the post & see how the image will look on screen.

9. Bask in the glory of conquering technology

There is also an iPhone app for Imgur as well, same principle applies, but ******** to doing a load of screenshots off the phone to create a guide for that

The Imgur tip is brilliant, no account or login needed, so much simpler than opening yet another account. Thanks.
