Default Part No.s needed for CSL bootlid fitment - Lights etc. and boot release handle

Chaps,

I'll be fitting my OEM CSL bootlid shortly. What parts are needed for the swap?

If anyone knows, can you list part no's, quantities and rough prices as I've searched but can't find much.

Thanks

Len, AFAIK there is no boot handle mate, the csl boot just has the number plate lights (from a 5 series) and thats it.

The boot is "opened" from the inside boot release, (a button near the bonnet release).

Otherwise you have to use the remote boot open.

As for parts they are all swap-able from your boot execpt the handle and lights.

Have a look on realoem for part numbers.

Thanks John,

Just found this on CA's site:
Registration Plate Light Qty 2: 63 26 7165 646 3.65 ea
Cable Socket Qty 4: 61-13-0-007-449 0.90 ea
8-connector Qty 2: 61-13-1-378-149 0.90 ea
License Plate Holder Grommets Qty 2: 46 63 2 347 012 1.50 ea
Screws for Plate Holder Qty 2: 5mm x 20

I'm guessingthe top three are to get the number lights working?

I meant to say CSL boot switch mechanism, not sure why I said handle. If anyone knows part numbers for the boot release switch, it would be much appreciated.

I just mounted the csl bootlid.
A friend from the German m-forum sent me the instructions (www.m-forum.de).

You can also use the number plate lights from the E9x models, which are LED's....

- 2x LED number plate lights, 63267193293

- 2x plugs, 61136925634

- 4x PINs, 61130005197

- 4x cable connectors, 9992100160

it is just that you need to change the plugs from old to new,... most suitable is a soldering gun.

Actually it does not fit directly, you just need to take away material from the nose, shown on the next pic.

Otherwise it won't fit.

for the inside boot release I found something here ... , you need those parts:
- switch 61 31 8365 579 (ca. 27€)
- Universal case 61 138 373 666 (ca. 1€)
- 4x connector/pin for the case 61 130 006 663 (ca. 1€ per unit)
- cable to extend the cables from the connectors and to attach to the modulen beyond the glove box.

that's the switch

Thanks Guys,

Not been through the German guide yet but I've ordered some of the parts. Bagged a switch from Ebay for 3.00 which RealOEM show's at $72!

Indeed, the remote boot switch is something I'll be doing at some point, I got the switch of ebay, for less than a fiver.

The pins and plug are like 3-4 odd-ish.

I have a retro guide somewhere.

(Good post rwi).

I got the bits from a link Vu sent me here - you dont need them all but most.
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...+number&page=3

Its just the number plate nights need hooking up as they are different to the standard M3.....very very simple indeed!

You definately dont want a boot handle on a CSL bootlid, It looks sh1t and ruins the whole essence of fitting it in the first place.

You can pop the boot via the remote on your key, but only when the key is out of the ignition..hence I need to retrofit a boot release as soon as i can.

Maybe theres a reason for bootlid not to open but with key. So that driver can get out and open it. Passenger, will think its a normal boot and slam it shut lol
