Default Renewal question for Dan

Hi Dan,

My renewal is up - when I took the policy out I didn't know about the forum discount. Is there someone I can speak to (you?) about adding this deduction to the renewal quote.

Has yours gone up this year?

Mine is due for renewal this month and has gone up 100.

Yes same. Im pissed off about it.

Last year when I first took the policy out they claimed it was expensive because this was my first year of driving a 'performance car' regardless of what ever I had owned before. Promising that the renewal would be much cheaper.

Instead its gone up by a ton. Wtf is that about. I know insurance has gone up over the last year but given the initial sales pitch this is a bit of a sore move. Trying to work out if I can be arsed to go through the ball ache of calling other companies now.

What I did last year as they put the price up by 100+ was to go on a comparison website and get the best price then called them up and they agreed to match it. But it has gone up 100 again this year.

I know rates have gone up, and the IPT rate has gone to 12% which accounts for some of it. However, I have got a quote from General Accident for 80 less than renewal invite. I might just switch, as can't be bothered to go through this every renewal. Although, GA might not be any better come renewal?

Just have to, put some work in to get the best price, it is worth it.

Trouble is mine is a 320i touring with all the M3 driveline/suspension/engine etc. So although its basically stock M3 it classes as heavily modified so my choice of insurers is limited.

Just renewed with flux. Dan added the members discount which brought the premium down to 719 (was 700 last year!), I've also moved house and now the car lives on the drive - they said they would honor the 719 price which I said was ********.

2 mins later came back with 650 which I accepted as I just needed to get to work at that point - asked why they didn't just offer that in the first place and got some rubbish excuse back.

Its simple - offer the best price you can, win happy, returning customers. Next year I will pro actively shop about before renewing.

Can I be cheeky and ask what your renewal is price wise (PM if you would prefer), I'm 30 next year with 10+ years of NCB.

Avoid Adrian flux if you can, terrible company to deal with when you need them on your side, can I recommend REIS insurance, had really good relationship with them and they are good on modified or agreed value vehicles.
