Mate, to be honest 8500 doesnt seem that far out considering it's almost ten years old with over 60k miles, and is about to be two generations old soon. In these economic times no one can afford to buy or fuel up big engined cars and unfortunately it is manifesting itself in values of cars like these. My brother in law just bought a large petrol engined 2008 S Class for 20k, that car would have been nearer to 30k only six months ago.

If you can get some decent money off the car you are looking at and get them to nudge up yours a tad, it may be the best chance you will have this time of year. Just offering some advice.

I would agree with you if it was a run of the mill tatty M3 with no extra's and with 90k plus miles on it and hadnt been looked after but its not, granted its 9 years old but its an M3 not a cheap little escort . (nothing wrong with escorts before anyone says anything)

I wont be selling it for 8500 I would rather torch the car lol

I do agree that big engines are a dying breed though and no one wants them.

It will sell eventually or better still Ill get a descent part ex, Ive been offered 20+ cars now some were very nice but Ive decided the route I want to go down so I turned them down.

Its a waiting game now

Speaking from experience as I also just sold a mint M3, with even lower miles than yours, unfortunately it seems everything these days is driven by price. I have no doubt your car is probably better than most three year old cars condition wise, the problem I kept running into was that potential buyers were only concerned with price and all the money I spent (much of it unecessary but out of my desire to have a tip-top example) and care I put into the car meant nothing to most potential buyers.

Yep totally agree with that no one seems to care about things like that anymore, although I do and I know my friends do, must be a dying breed.

Meanwhile im happy driving around in an M3 vert until it does sell.

You might be surprised at the deal you can do with a dealer!

I traded in my 03 car last week with 48k on the clock and was in the end happy with the deal. Again, like yours mine was in really good condition and included the hard top.

You;ve just got to dig your heals in for the right deal, there out there.

another solution is to take in a p/ex on a car easier to sell than an m3 and sell that to get the car you want?
