Default About to pick up the new car

Evening all.

It's a good few years since I last had an M3, the last one was an E46, and now I find myself about to get another.

I bought a brand new M2 in March, and it just hasn't hit the spot for me, so I'm swapping it for a white F80 M3 tomorrow.

It stings a bit to drop 9,000 in four months, but I'm not going to stick with a car that I don't want, so off it's going.

The plan is to give it a few weeks to get used to it and then probably see if I can have the output upped a bit. I'll be reading through what others on here have done, and probably have a few questions to ask. I chatted with GAD tuning today who I may give a try if no-one suggests otherwise.

Congrats on the M3, hopefully you will like it more than the M2... well after a 9k hit you kind of have to!

Congrats on the new pickup, just got myself in to a CP M3 MY17 and drove it up to the lakes yesterday, even though I am running in, the drive was epic compared to my old (and much loved) M135i. Was so tempted to take it over 5.5k but resisted- most of the time

9k hit on the trade in though!! Ouch, M2 clearly not the depreciation buster originally anticipated.

Thanks for the welcome.

I've some questions now.

The car has ALL of the connected features disabled, which I'm not happy about. I didn't think to ask about these, but there are none of them.

The iDrive is also an older version. The M2 looked like a set of cards moving across the screen when choosing through the top level menus, whereas the M3 is a very old-fashioned menu.

Can I upgrade the interface to match the M2 one, and will I get the nice 3D mapping etc if I do this?

Also, should a one year-old car not have the connectivity enabled?

When I collected it the windows were open which I've now realised was to hide the mild smokers smell that it has, and it's telling me that it needs a service soon, after I'd been promised that it was all done before collection. For a main dealer, I don't think they've really done me right here.
