Hi Shezbo

Thanks so much for the great words really means a lot mate

The Clamps are amazing and will dig out the link now. They were from Ebay a company called (XR8 Components)

Come with everything inc Gaskets and fitted like a glove. I already had OE gaskets so used them but really no difference between the two!

Cheers

Car is awesome by the way. Attention to detail is something I could only dream about!! Is it dry stored?

I've also got the XR8 kit ready to hand over to the guys at Redish to fit

My old man is the manger of the Marina opposite so we're always over at the Bounty! I'll keep and eye out for the car if you ever park it there!

Oh ok that makes sense - dad staffy is Mason then your helper is Mason Junior, and so you're the other Mason named after them hopefully that's it?
Oh I did see a nice lad trying to take a pic when I went to get a bottle of water out of the boot - I did move out of the way for him - was that your son? We're you in the vicinity then? Was your car there?
So sorry I missed you. We were by the car for quite a while to start with, then walked around to see the other Beemers. We did sit along behind the cars with some others a bit nearer the stage end for a lot of the time...
Thank you for your kind words I'd like to see your son's pics if you don't mind It's a shame he couldn't sort out my tail pipes - he did such a fab job on yours

It was a late move to head to Gaydon as we had friends staying over but they left Saturday night! So we was up and out racing down the M40 in the Audi Q5 so arrived about 11:30am!

My son was off taking pics why I was at the trade stands hence I missed you

But really loved the car and got some smashing pic's so will send over 100% probably be tomorrow now if thats ok.

Tail pipes I will tell him now

The Rise of the Phoenix has been treated yet again

A new Constant Pressure Valve fitted - it was not leaking but thought best do it before it does must caught it in time as O Ring was very flat!

Had a old broken socket so got to work with the bench Grinder and made it a correct fit for the CPV.....all removed and new one installed along with all new Bolts from BMW for the front aluminium under brace.

Also done another Oil and filter with the correct Castrol Supercar 10w60 oil and Mahle filter only done 70 miles since last oil change! But had a great deal on the Oil have loads left so thought why not

Also ordered all new nut's and bolts/screws with washers for all 4 of the arch liners yes anal I know but dam they look amazing when the wheels are off

Also have some Powerflex Bushes to fit this week and a load of Suspension bit's and bobs to collect from BMW and get fitted so be a busy weekend ahead

A few pic's.........Sorry not many as I got carried away and forgot

Hi

Just a small point or question, why use a non BMW oil filter (they are not expensive)?

I know some car groups I have been a member of and Merc Benz (for example) really extol the use of a genuine filter? Some Non BMW oil filter manufactures will say a filter is a filter....

I personally would only ever use genuine, your "perfectionist" nature would have lead to this...?

Hi Mate

Totally understand what your saying but the Genuine Bmw filter is made by Mahle and has the same code's on and is identical other then the name BMW missing lol! its the same filter with same gaskets made in the same factory

So for me it's really a no brainer and I can change them twice or even 3 x as much as a Bmw price for one at 17 where the Mahle cost's me 5 and thats whats more important to me really mate.

Link below.............

Hope that helps
