Default Diff output shafts

Does anyone know if the diff output shafts are the same left/right? They are a different part number (one digit) but wanted to know if they're are physically different.

I'm having the drivers wheel bearing changed and the nut is seized so the garage think they'll wreck the output shaft getting it off. I have a spare passenger side output shaft.... Wondering if it will go on... Measurements are the same etc....

They are different lengths as I've just found. So on the look out for a 2nd hand drivers side!

Are you sure? I’ve had the diff off a few times but admittedly never had the shafts out. I’d have thought they’d have to be the same for the LSD to function the way it’s meant to? I’m sceptical.

I cut my teeth in times of Vauxhall’s unequal shafts - would always spin up one wheel.

My mechanic says passenger side is 30-40mm shorter. I had a full passenger side hub/shaft/control arm etc spare.....so thought we could rob bits but back fired. If someone knows for sure I'll fire it back to him and get him to check.

Just paid £200 for another drivers side driveshaft

Just found this, near the bottom of page 1 it shows the two shafts next to each other, and the OP then confirms the drivers side is longer.... Wish I Iooked for this a week ago haha
