Default Another recall??

Finally received a letter for the wiring recall, as expected there are no parts so can’t book it in yet

But yesterday received another recall letter:

‘Checking/reworking heating and air conditioning blower regulator plug connection’

Again no parts in stock so should expect another letter to book it in

Anyone else got this ?

Yeah I received the fusebox power cable one a few weeks ago and the heater blower one a few days ago. I'm going to give them a call soon to get it booked in; I don't want to be bumped down the queue if people keep ringing up!

Mine went in for the original and that is when they told me about the heater motor cable as well.

Mine had signs of scoring on the cable so they wanted to replace and would not let me have the car back unless I signed something about the danger and had the full heating and cooling system disabled. I refused as the back log was 6 to 8 weeks for the parts.

Lucky for me, they had someone who cancelled on them so I took their parts and got the car back in a day.

My MOT is due on 20th this month and BMW Park Lane still has no parts to fix the blower recall.
Since an outstanding recall can mean an automatic failure, what should I do? I have it booked in for MOT with BMW Park Lane on 18th but is there anything else I should do?

Quite a few years... I think it's 2007 to 2010 or 2011.

Well I would say you have enough proof that bmw is responsible if anything were to happen as they’re short on parts

Mine went in for its sticking rear calliper today and they said they can do the two recall notices at the same time. Bonus. Eastern in Edinburgh.

Spoke to BMW a couple of weeks ago, the blower plug or wiring loom went out of production on the 8th July 2011. My car shows no recall for this and started its build on 13th July. As it was so close to the part going out of production I was advised to get it checked. It went into the dealers on Monday and it has the new part fitted according to the dealer.

Hope this helps but I would get it checked, if the dealer won’t check it phone BMW they said they would get involved if I had problems with the dealer.

Had my recall notice through this morning too. It's gotta go in at the end of August for the rear discs and pads to be done and a brake fluid service so hoping to get the two recalls done at the same time. That's if they've got the parts by then of course...

See i thought this was fixed a couple of years ago already - wasn't recalled but was done on the quiet - or was that just the battery connectors? Would they be clever enough to check which cars had/hadn't been fixed before sending the letter?

Hang on how many recalls are there?
1 Battery terminal
2 Heater blower wiring recall
3 Heater / air con blower regulator plug
Is 2 and 3 not the same thing?

Great thanks.
Got both done at Lloyd Newcastle.
Didn’t even have to ask about the blower unit!
