This would give me a two way amp for the underseat subs and a four way for the 2 front component speaker and the 2 rear coaxials.

Any thoughts??
Essentially this is what the alpine system comes with. You get l7 front door speakers and tweeters, they look just like the h/k ones, an alpine amp 2 channel, and tweeters.

This alpine amp sits snug under the boot and powers the subs and new door speakers. Then upgrading the subs to l7 units completes the set up and gives some great sound!

Maybe it’s just me, but I turn off the radio to hear the v8 more clearly! I personally wouldn’t care less what audio package was fitted to the car. The v8 symphony trumps and treble or bass from the radio!

Ha, this is me... or I’ve got someone trying to speak to me in the phone and I’m trying to explain I can’t really hear them because I’ve got the roof down!!!
But

The lack of audio upgrade was a box that wasn’t ticked on my list of criteria when I found this car and I want it improved from the proverb spec to satisfy my want for completeness.

Resurrecting an old thread here but i'm also looking to upgrade the base stereo on my new to me LCI e90 M3 and the alpine kit looks like the cleanest way of doing this and a possible DIY.

Only question is if it is still available or only being sold on with big markups? Older threads put the price point at around £250 however looking now these are closer to £400. I havn't yet spoken with a dealer but will get around to this soon.

Tbh, if you have basic audio and want a high end aftermarket system you start at an advantage.

I am clueless with audio so just want a shopping list of tried and trusted plug and play kit.

Iíve heard this but still confused and found that you need to do your own homework to avoid the installers just recommending what they make most in.

I want more than the Alpine setup and like the idea of amps driving all the speaker rather than the head unit struggling.

Any recommendations from you??

You can get speaker level to RCA converter cables that fit into the quadlock plug. This gives you ample scope to add aftermarket amps etc directly to the RCA sockets for however much power and quality you require.

Ditto - been many years since the days of researching and installing stereo equipment and the goal is to just get the audio 'up to standard'

Not everyone's cup of tea. But I only had basic or Hifi in the three E92s I had. Finally decided to upgrade OEM style to Individual Audio aka. Enhanced Premium Sound aka Top HiFI.

Still many more parts to get before we can start the install process.

I also have base stereo which I hate, however I have a set of logic 7 speakers and parcel shelf, I also have focal underseat speaker/subs, anyone know what i need to fit it? Is it a case of fitting the logic 7 loom then upgrade the amp?

Youíd need it fitting into your MOST optical loop as well as L7 loom and coding.

Is that straight forward? Can I buy that loom too?

I had a quote for the Alpine upgrade a few days ago and it was a shade under £400 including the tweeter pod things but I was told that was trade price.

These are the part numbers:
65410445684 - Kit
51337184197 - Tweeter pod
51337184198 - Tweeter pod

I've only had the car for a couple of weeks and thought the audio was a bit pants but I've had a play with the Bass/Treble/Balance settings (which were waaay off) and its not too bad IMO. Especially compared to the wife's Focus of similar vintage! That really is RUBBBBBISH!!!!!

There are many ways to go about hifi upgrades.
I have no affiliation with the place below but it has a few options and they have done lots of them it seems
