Car: E30 M3 and E90 M3
Default 2008 BMW M3 E90, Manual, Black with Fox Red Novillo Interior

2008 BMW M3 E90, Manual, Black with Fox Red Novillo Interior ________________________________________
BMW M3 Saloon with 6-speed manual gearbox.

I am selling my pride and joy a rare combination of saloon body and manual gearbox.
• Registered Feb 2008 on a '58 Plate.
• 60,000 miles but this will increase as I still use the car on some weekends although I work from home a lot and have a company car.
• Full BMW service history (7 stamps in the book including the all-important running in service).
• Looks stunning in Jerez Black metallic paint.
• This colour looks a very deep blue under artificial lights such as petrol station lights or strong sunlight.
• Upgraded Fox Red Novillo leather interior in superb condition.
• Electric seats with the driver’s seat having dual memory function which remembers the seat position as well as both wing mirrors.
• Xenon Headlights which are fantastic on unlit roads.
• Incredibly bright beam.
• Main beam assist so you can leave the main beam on and the car senses other vehicles in front and dips the headlights automatically.
• Automatic headlights which turn themselves onto dipped beam when the ambient light drops.
• Daylight running angel eye lights.
• Auto dimming rear view mirror to prevent you being dazzled by drivers behind.
• Rain sensing automatic windscreen wipers.
• Electric controlled and heated wing mirrors.
• Leather M steering wheel with contrast stitching in M colours.
• Steering wheel adjusts for reach and rake.
• Cruise control with brake function so on downhills the car will automatically apply the brakes to maintain your chosen speed.
• Satellite Navigation
• Bluetooth phone preparation option factory fitted so you can pair your mobile(s) to the iDrive and it pulls through all of your contacts.
• USB and Auxiliary jack connector under driver’s armrest another factory fitted option.
• Dual zone climate control.
• Parking sensors front and rear with iDrive display showing you visually what it detects.
• 19 inch option BMW alloys with good Michelin Pilot Super Sports fitted plenty of thread. 265/35 R19 rears and 245/35 R19 fronts.
• The best tyres you can fit and recommended by BMW's M division.
• Tyre inflator repair kit in the boot.
• Electric windows on all four windows.
• Windows can be opened and closed from the key fob by holding the door open or closed button for a few seconds.
• EDC - Electronic Dampers which dynamically alter the shock absorbers. Your preferred setting can be programmed into the M button on the steering wheel.
• Telematic voice control of most functions within the car.
• BMW Assist SOS button on headlining.

Now on to maintenance.
This car has been maintained to the highest standards and has wanted for nothing.
I have spent lots fitting genuine BMW parts at genuine garages to keep this car in perfect condition.
I have a huge amount of mechanical sympathy and I always warm the engine oil until around 80C+ when the car starts to measure the oil level before I go above 3000rpm.
For the first 2-3 miles I keep the car below 2500rpm to allow the engine to warm up and get into tolerance. To reach 80C takes around 9-12 miles depending on the time of year.
The rev limiter automatically increases from around 6000 up to the 8400rpm redline but it does this far sooner than I think it should.
I don't often drive the car hard but I always ensure the oil and engine are fully up to temperature before I do.

The car has always been run on super unleaded petrol
I have only ever used the recommended Castrol TWS 10w60 fully synthetic oil for the servicing and top ups.
This car uses around 1 litre of oil every 5000-6000 miles and has been consistent at this for over two years since I bought it. The engine holds 9 litres of oil.

I average around 23mpg on a mixture of town and motorway driving which is roughly what BMW quote for the combined cycle.
On a pure motorway journey 30mpg is fairly easily achieved even doing a reasonable speed which gives a range of 360+ miles.

Before I list all of the maintenance I have done I want to cover throttle actuators....
One of the only slight weaknesses on the S65 engine are the throttle actuators.
Being a V8 there are two banks of cylinders.
Each bank has dedicated throttle bodies on each cylinder and the throttle is drive by wire so controlled by electronic actuators.
These actuators have gears inside them to link the electric motor to the arm that controls the butterfly valves.
These gears are made of plastic and gradually the teeth wear down until they go out of tolerance and you get a lovely error code on the dash and the car goes into limp home mode. (You'll be lucky to drive at 30mph in limp home mode).
It typically takes 50-60,000+ miles for them to wear down but they will all eventually do this.
My car developed this issue about 8 months ago so I contacted Jason from refurb of M3cutters. It cost me £75 to diagnose but I pretty much knew what the issue was already.
They confirmed that the bank 1 actuator was the problem. Knowing that if bank 1 has gone out of tolerance I knew bank 2 wouldn't be far behind so I insisted BMW fit two new actuators.
You can drive away with piece of mind knowing that both actuators have been changed with a warranty!
If you are looking at any other V8 M3s and the seller/dealer can't show you the receipt for two new actuators and tries to dismiss it then either walk away or budget £2000 for replacing them some point in the near future.

Here is a list of the maintenance and servicing I have carried out during my ownership:

June 2018

Respray front bumper to remove stone chips
Total – 489.00

November 2017
• Oil service and oil filter
• Air Filter and Micro filters on the air conditioning.
• Brake Fluid Service
• New Fuel Filler Cap
• Total £426
November 2016
• Two new throttle actuators
• Total £800 Thank You [email protected]
November 2015
• Oil service and oil filter
• Microfilters on the air conditioning.
• Brake fluid
• Brand new disc and pads all round
• Spark Plugs
• Air cleaner Element
• Total £1784
All parts have always been genuine. The throttle actuators are under lifetime warranty.

I have therefore spent a lot of money maintaining this car to the highest standards and you will have peace of mind knowing that all the parts are original and the car has been loved and cared for.

The car is HPI clear.

The engine is fantastic in this car. It pulls like a train in every gear and the sound has to be heard in the flesh as you will not be disappointed.
The exhaust is the standard V8 note as rolled out the factory and turns heads wherever it goes. It's the perfect mix of sedate when cruising on the motorway but screams like a Ferrari under throttle.
The exhaust tips were a little dirty when I photographed the car so I gave them a clean and polish which can be seen.

Viewings welcome but no test pilots, tyre kickers or time wasters.
I will not accept stupid offers but I am open to sensible offers.

No test drives unless I see proof of insurance and you bring the full asking price in cash to put in my hand for obvious reasons. You bend it then you buy it.

Any questions contact me through here or on my mobile 07918644331. My name is Manny.
I can’t get any photos up so happy to send you pictures to your phone

Price? Pictures?

It's nice to know how you drove the car but I'm guessing these two details above are more important to any potential buyer

GLWS, I love a manual E90!

factoring £2k for replacing actuators is a bit steep! at bmw maybe, but a quarter with rebuild.org.uk

just my two pence, other than that sounds like a cracking car, glwts!

Yes they are a great car, tried selling my saloon recently, not much interest for some reason, it is mint and a rare LCI model.

So have decided to keep as probably would regret letting it go anyway.

Yours looks and sounds a great example, so good luck with your sale.

This is still for sale I know this will be a slow process being a 4litre V8. If your in the market for an E90 M3 then come and view mine before you commit. You wont be disappointed. Its ready to be driven away

I think it is a mistake not getting some pictures up. You may be able to sway someone looking for an e92.
Would suggest trying that before reducing your price

Seriously mate, pictures speak 1000 words. I'm sure it would help you sell it more easily.
