RS2000 thanks for sorting the plaques, I'll send the 1.50 back to you though. I didn't have to pay anything extra, mine arrived through the post, and having been through the hassle of sorting them you shouldn't have had to do that anyway.

In terms of positioning I am happy with the consensus of ashtray lid, in some ways that is also the most flexible in terms of a future owner that might want to remove it. On which note I need to get a new Ashtray because mine is too scratched to have the plaque on and for me to be happy with it.

That advert on SMS Auto's site is brilliant "most of these parts were never made available ever again" "Except these ones" Oh and all the other stuff that was a standard option! Still that is a good price for a low owner, low mileage car. Also the 'discerning' motoring celebrity that mine was given to was Barons of Hindhead who had it for the first six months according to the DVLA ownership history request.

I'm going to go for the Ashtray lid as well.

If I don't hurry up and get round to doing it I'll end up losing the bloody plaque that's still sitting on my computer desk underneath a pile of unopened mail. (I have a bad habit of letting mail build up for a few weeks before opening it next to the shredder).

Full reg of that car is HJ05 KYZ but I don't know which Chassis number belongs to it since all the sites that used to provide that info have now stopped.

Default Excellent idea RS 2000

Hi there, sorry I'm late coming to the party, as I own HJ05KYZ on Pistonheads and can confirm its chassis number is PP86866. Looks like that makes mine number 28. It is manual with electric memory seat but not heated and no garish blue handbrake or gear lever gaitor. Thanks for coming up with the idea of the registry RS2000.
I know another guy with a Silverstone Edition so will encourage him to register. I love this car and it is a real cracker. Only selling to buy a tow car for my self built Jag D type replica which I am racing next year. Please do PM me if you are interested as I want the car to go to a good home.

Welcome to the forum Vintage and thanks for the extra info about your car.

I don't know anything about the D type or the replica race classes but there's a guy on here from the South East who races a Mk1 Jag.

Good luck with the sale, car does look stunning.

Default drivers airbag recall

Thanks RS2000.

Popping down to the dealer to have airbag drivers airbag attended to. Hits also got a recall notice today. My letter was dated 22.8.2017 and just got it today.

Bit slack from BMW Group?

Received my passenger side letter in November 2015.
Received a reminder in April 2016

Tried to book it in but Dealer said they were out of stock and would contact me when available.
Never heard back.

Had a few panels painted under corrosion warranty last Month and they did both air bags at the same time.

Although I never received a letter for the drivers side one.
