Do evolve have a carbon intake kit coming out for the e92? I thought they shelved the idea a while ago. If they are bringing one out I'll definately be getting one

£800 is a deal and a steal mate. Other options that i've been looking at are between £2000 and £3000

Shame there isn't a Kevlar plenum to match.

Cost vs gains will be infinitesimally small. The OEM intake is hard to beat, it's been proven that performance gains via alternative intakes is tiny.

Best way to spend money is on pre cat delete plus remap (to iron out EML
error due to higher fuel in sensors) which will give 25-35bhp. Then a lighter exhaust for further breathing plus noise and weight saving.

The intake is absolutely the worst area to spend money unless your intentions are show bling.

Edited to add. I love that site. I've found a few bits I was looking for on it like decent carbon fiber door panels etc. Nice one mate.

Yes gains are not much for price you spend but that induction noise is epic

So I have something very similar to the carbon kevlar one shown above, its a nice bit of kit but doesn't do much for performance or noise. I've always wondered how a full carbon intake would sound having had an m3 CSL.

Looking around there isn't anyone who is offering a decent carbon intake without breaking the bank so I decided to make my own. This is work in progress, the mould have been made and a prototype top cover has come out ok, ignore the extra carbon bits on the inside, this is purely a test to see how the shape would come out.

I'll update this thread once I have it made and fitted to my car.

here's some pics so far

The mould made from an oem intake plenum

first attempt, very messy but was just made up to see if the final shape from the mould was good enough

I have the carbon plenum from Goke. It has a 20% volume increase over stock and sounds CSL like. Performance gain is supposedly 10hp.

Goke make carbon parts for BMW and VW motorsport, their build quality and customer service is fantastic.

I went direct and paid a lot less than £2k.
