Default Exhaust vanos timing

Hi, my EML light is on and I have a lumpy idle, the codes come up with exhaust vanos timing or something to that effect.

Is that a total vanos overhaul needed or does it just need setting up or something.

The cars been at NCB auto Kraft, but he doesn’t do the vanos work, but did replace an oil seal plate as all the o rings were crushed and restricting the flow of oil.

Where’s best to take it? Hack and drvanos are 3 plus hours away from me. Thanks.

Post the actual error code not "something to that affect"
Precise answer requires precise question
