My first purchase for the car was a private plate, never had one before but I felt the car deserved something a bit more appropriate, and i couldn’t leave it there for the price.

So the car was taxed and insured then taken to spring action day, booked a cheeky track slot as I was keen to try the car out, but what a waste of time that was.
My aged hard compound Direzza’s were terrible in the wet, and the track session was so short (9 minutes) I didn’t get any temperature in them until the end of the session.

I was determined to get the car out in the dry to see what it can do, so I booked a last minute trackday back at Combe.
Straight away I was impressed, first session out I was 5 seconds a lap faster than my modified mk3 focus RS on CUP2’s.
It still took a lap or two for the direzza’s to really work, but the car felt very stable and flat, brakes were incredible and I even found the DCT a pleasure to use (I’ve only ever owned manuals).

Aiming to book some more trackdays through the summer

Also managed to make the queens square car meet in Bristol and got a chance to see joe’s stunning supercharged e92, really need to get a ride in that to see how tempting a supercharged is

Thanks guys. I love the mirrors but I don’t think I would have bought them myself, the price is insane

I really fancy Bedford, never been before. Iíve got a baby due very soon so will start looking at trackdays again when he comes. If he gets a shift on June 9th could work.

Little update - decided to rebuild the actuators with some new gears from rebuild.org, glad i did as the old ones were looking a bit suspect. Throttle response feels a lot smoother now which is a bonus.

I also replaced my direzza’s, but the tyre fitter found one of the barrels to be cracked so another one is on its way as I really don’t fancy a weld repair.

All really good, had it up on a 2 post when I purchased it to check it over, no play.
I spoke to phil before I bought it and he said that he used is one winter and some of the anodised arms corroded, so schirmer replaced them with harder anodised arms free of charge.
Thinking of kinematic?

If I kepted my e90, I think I would have. Nice to know they can last awhile.

Going to get schirmer to set up the f80 on my next visit, then see what he suggest. I know he’ll not like the kw Coilovers, but too expensive to change now.
