yes have removed mine before, they are not supposed to be removed tho so you have to go carefully.

Start by removing the sticker on top pry that up, then there is a t10 bit to undo, but you also have to remove the leds out of the plastic that requires cutting a bigger hole where the wiring comes through to allow it to fit back out the hole.
Then the silver dct surround removes with a pull.

Andy I see you’ve had the gts upgrade done, did you notice much difference? Thinking about doing but was told only noticeable on the track?

I dunno who told you noticeable on track! There's a huge difference on the road! Gear shifts are smoother and quicker, down shifts is less laggy.... I'd say its been the best thing I've done to the car!

Should pry up eventually a little heat would help, itís held with some double sided tape. Very small flat head screwdriver or Stanley blade.

As above the top emblem is held in with double sided tape, some heat and persuasion with a plastic pry tool will get it off

I had mine trimmed in alcantara and painted the cover gloss black

Cant speak re removing the gearknob, but I'm another fan of the GTS upgrade. It doesn't transform the car, but tightens the changes up and down noticeably - faster, smoother and engages reverse much more quickly. You won't regret it. Forum member Alpina527 was kind enough to do mine and many others on here.

Thanks for all the tips fellas, I was able to heat up and lever off the top cap off the gear knob to get access to the Torx screw :-)
