Car: 2004 E46 M3 / SMG / COUPE
Colour Combo: Imola Red / Black Heated Nappa Leather
Default Imola Red, SMG

Up for sale is my E46 M3. I bought the car 2 years ago and have done around 18k miles since then. It's currently on 96,000 miles. No part ex needed, so straight sale only.

UPDATES
All mods apart from the Storm handbrake and paddles now removed. Will update pic later but the gear knob is now just a standard OEM (in very good condition).

Price
Reduced to 11,000

Reason for Sale
I just bought an X5 due to growing family and can't justify keeping both.

Basic Specs
- 2004 so genuine facelift model
- Coupe
- Imola Red
- 96,000 miles. Won't change much.
- SMG. Primes perfectly every time.
- Black heated Nappa leather seats.
- MOT booked in for next Monday so will have 1 years MOT. Last one passed with no advisories, expecting same again.
- 5 Previous owners.

Condition
Bodywork - in my opinion considering age and trying to be as objective as possible, very very good overall. I clay and wax the car every 6 months.
Wheels - could do with a refurb all round especially one wheel. I bought them from CM Wheels and to be honest, I'd just buy another set for 450 instead of refurbing them if I was keeping the car.
Tyres - MPSS on the front with a lot of tread left. Brand new MPS 4S on the back, literally done about 20 miles since fitting them.
Seats - very good condition, I use Swissvax every 6 months on them.
Trim - I have replaced most of this in my ownership so very good condition, also things like steering wheel and gators have been re-trimmed.

All in all, I've spent over 7,000 on general maintenance and replacing numerous wear and tear parts as my plan was to keep the car long term until I suddenly bought an X5! It's genuinely been really well looked after. Everything is documented in a spreadsheet which I'm happy to show any serious potential buyers.

Service History
2,291 - Running in service @ BMW Leicester.
9,165 - Oil service @ BMW Leicester.
26,045 - Inspection 1 @ BMW Luton.
38,724 - Oil Service @ BMW Stevenage.
52,052 - Inspection 2 @ Parva Cars (believe this was a BMW specialist but not sure).
64,309 - Inspection 1 @ Wheelbase BMW Specialist.
73,000 - Inspection 2 @ Woodside Motor Services.
82,000 - Inspection 1 @ AReeve Performance (diff and gearbox oil). Everything else done by my including shims. It ended up being an Inspection 2 service pretty much.
87,000 - Power steering fluid change (done by me).
88,000 - Oil service (done by me).
93,000 - Oil service (done by me).

General Maintenance
The following is all work that I did in my ownership:

83,000 - Full track rod assembly (not just the ends). Both sides.
83,000 - OEM RTABS with TMS limiters from Mirror John.
84,000 - Suspension renewed including shocks, springs, top mounts, bump stops etc.
84,000 - OEM steering coupler.
87,000 - Front control arms including lollipop bushes, both sides.
87,000 - Rear outer camber arm bushes, both sides.
87,000 - Rear outer wishbone bushes, both sides.
87,000 - Upgraded CPV valve from Hack (common oil leak on old ones).
87,000 - OEM drop links front, both sides.
89,000 - OEM power steering high pressure line (common fail on most M3's after a certain age).
90,000 - Full handbrake assembly both sides.
93,000 - Rear top mounts, old ones were knocking.

Modifications and Upgrades
- Storm Motorwerks Titanium SMG paddles and handbrake). Worth around 200+.
- Retrimmed steering wheel, handbrake and SMG gator. Re-trim was done in black Alcantara and Red stitching by Jack Royal.
- New Osram Night Breaker xenon bulbs (worth around 100).
- Bilstein B4 dampers with Eibach springs all round. This was only done around a year ago. All associated parts were renewed as well like top mounts etc.
- Spacers all round, giving a perfect stance (in my opinion).
- CSL reps from CM Wheels.
- Latest CSL rev matching software done by Martyn.
- Remap by Paul Claude on here.
- M-Track mode coded, can be activated by quick press of DSC button.
- Purple Tag rack, sharpens the steering nicely.
- Genuine cupholders.
- All interior lights changed to the newer whiter LED's from the sponsor on here. Looks much more modern.

Other Bits
Subframe - not done however as far as I'm aware, no issues. I had the car checked by 2 BMW specialists when I bought it - BMW Halesowen in Birmingham and well known A-Reeve Performance in Kings Lynn. Both provided written confirmation of no cracks.
Vanos - not done but again, no issues and no unusual noises.
Rod bearings and HG - not done as felt no need to yet. Would have done it at some point over 100k miles if I kept the car.

Thanks guys! Really would have liked to have kept it but as I said, an X5 and an M3 together is going to drain my wallet! Plus the M3 would hardly ever get used so just can't justify it.

I have an x5 as my daily and an m3 as a toy I can confirm it does drain your wallet

Cheers, I've already spent 1k on new alloys for the X5 and tempted to put a screen in which costs 500 so they are expensive toys!

Stunning color, I had an ordinary E46 in Imola turned more heads than any other car I've had!

X5's are so big, are you sure you can't just sneak the M3 into the boot and keep it
Otherwise good luck with sale.

^ Thanks, I wish I could but as well as the cost of maintaining both of these cars, I just won't be using the M3 much at all! Makes more sense to replace it with a cheaper runaround like a 1 series.

You're right about the colour, it does really stand out and suits the E46 in any guise.
