Default Just used INPA for the first time to scan codes.. Any ideas folks?

Hello.
Hope this link will work
My car is a May 2003 build date E46 m3.
Below is an image of the error code(s) on my car after engine rebuild and smg pump change. I have ran the actuators bleed and clutch bleed programs no errors. Engine started runs fine, took it for a spin and gearchanges were quick smooth and no.issues or noises, buttons gearbox cog light and engine light are on and stay on. This is the error memory from inpa.

https://flic.kr/p/RsQzKo

Any ideas what this means and any advice on the way forward to get the error dealt with and cleared. To my mind there can't be much wrong as it's running pretty good, so perhaps drive it a bit then redo the bleeding and try the full adaptions again which failed to finish the first time, then read codes again?
I've not used edibas yet or ncs expert or tool.32.. as they don't seem to recognise the car or some malfunction error right at start... ??
Any ideas much appreciated.
George

Can you read the codes from the SMG module too?

Idea 1
Alt+printscreen
So we can have a clear screen snapshot

Idea 2
Add a generic text only printer and print to file and paste the file contents here

Same way you did for the engine ECU, except select 'Transmission' > 'SMG2 - M sequential gearbox' or words to that effect.

Ah ok in inpa then? Ok ill have a go at that too and post the results. The other programs I have don't seem to work.. Ncs expert disv44 disv57 tool32.. Do I need to do some configuration or install programs. They are there on a cable shack opening up dialogue box but on clicking them to open, cable attached plugged in car ignition on to second stage just comes up with a malfunction error like the program doesn't recognise the car. Inpa works fine though. Anyway I'll use it for just now if it's all I need to get fault codes dealt with. Thanks. Bear with me lol

Just use INPA, it's fine for what you are doing.

ok .. managed to obtain a text read out of the inpa error reads, pasted below. you might have to alter screen resolution to read it correctly.

hope this makes sense.
i also recall seeing below the engine readout on inpa a list of double digit error codes some numerical, some hex. the dont seem to have appeared when print is pressed on inpa. i copied them manually though, are as follows

B1 48 01 28 16 15 7C 8D 45 72 00 00 00 00 ETC

I didnt see anything on the transmission readouts ..

Hope you can assist guys. The car has been parked until im sure theres nothing major. Both engine symbol and gearbox cog light are on but car drives great, no problems evident.

Clear the codes on the SMG ECU and then the engine ECU. If the same codes come back then run an adaption (the 3rd step after the bleeding of the clutch / pump) on the SMG.

Yes I had in my mind to do that.. Will do.
Will I not have to take the car a drive after I clear the codes for the system to work as on the road and pick up any codes after that?
Cheers

Just clear the codes, if the cog of doom / CEL comes back on then check the codes and re-adapt if required.

Default new code reads

..
cleared both modules of codes, went for a drive about twenty miles up and down the gears and settings engine light out throughout, gearbox light still on the whole time. Car drove very well much better than before rebuild, like night and day. Plugged in the laptop and opened inpa read codes, as follows.

so im guessing i have a problem. But cant be too serious as car was quick and apparently flawless on the drive !
Ill do the gearbox adaptions (F3) i think and see what comes up. What are the possible issues ?
Is the list of double digit error codes of any concern ? I know there are lists of codes but to be honest there is a bit of confusion as to which list to refer to hex or numeric ?

You don't need to worry about those codes. Just run the adaptions and you'll be fine.

Right, warning a long post bear with me !
Did the gearbox adaptions this morning and it failed at the point it opens the clutch about four minutes in after measuring the gears positions.
So i redid the clutch bleed program in inpa and it worked fine no errors. Ran the adaptions again, same thing smg2 break procedure at opening clutch.
Below is the print of the adaption fail report and screen shots of all the adaption values.
Hoping you guys can shed some light on what is causing the upset.
The car drives great and changes gear with no hesitation or judder, even at light throttle pulling away in first or edging back or forwards its fine. Gearbox light is on, engine light has now gone out.
The car has 110k original gearbox but a pump from a 68k car in it and it primes very quietly for under ten seconds cold unlike my original ! Battery fully charged and kept so in tandem with another vehicle charging it.
Here are the screen shots.

Basically selector angle adjustment time too long .. what would you think needs looked at ? gear linkage knuckle ?
Here are the adaption values : (I cannot seem to cut and paste the screen dumps at all, frustratingly)

(edited ,, above links hopefully working now)

Obvious there is something in the workings of the gear selection mechanism thatís not happy.
Still very much learning about all this and keen to understand so any helpful pointers info is much appreciated from anybody. Particular thankyou to you Martyn.

kind regards
George

Maybe thinking I shouldn't have initiated the adaptions.. Concensus is its really for when the clutch is changed.. Which I haven't changed. Now the light is on and apparently I'll not be able to extinguish it without replacing the clutch?.. . When I did the clutch bleed the cog light did go out but at some point came back on.. I'm not fussed tbh as long as the car drives fine and no further damage is done by driving with failed adaption. The car really does drive a lot better than it did before with no lights on on the dash at all!!!

Running the adaptions is what was required. Now it's failed the adaption because there's still a problem present. Everything needs to be tip top in order for the adaptions to complete.

Interestingly my adaption numbers didn't seem to be too far different from another inpa adaption screen dump I was reading through where the guy had fitted a new clutch and everything was working fine no errors... Must be just small gremlins we are talking about?
