On the right side, next to the bm54 unit with the square black connection, the tv tuner is under the black plastic trim.

If you dont have one there, then it can easily be added with the retrofit loom. You would also need the additional antennas, as your car most likely wont have any.
Great, thxvm, will have a look at w/e when I have time to take it to pieces !!

I had a really good question today.

Quote:
can you use and view the navigation, whilst listening to the dab radio?
Currently, it all works off the Television option, so you cant view the map view, but still get instruction for directions.

However, there is an easy way around this. An audio out could be fitted to the tv tuner, and with an auxiliary input on the bm54, the sound from the tv tuner can be heard via the aux mode. This means you can freely use the navigation, and also control the bass and treble.

Food for thought, if anyone is interested

Also, there is a trick to play your radio, cd, intravee or aux modes, whilst you have a tv channel on. I tend to leave a channel on, and have the auxiliary mode on, which I control the music from my phone with.

Hi interested in your tv tuner. just had a question... when you say it still gives you instructions for directions will it give a split screen of the direction or pops up on screen? or do you mean its just gives the voice of the direction?

also how much all together if i was to add the audio out to the tv tuner? cheers

Its the same as if you had your TV on now. But better in a way, as it wont cut the picture everytime it speaks for directions. No such thing as split screen on the TV mode.

So to buy a ready made unit off me, the cost is 379.99 + 15 p&p. The add on for audio out is 20, but you will also need one on your bm54, which is another 20.

So it might be best for you to send in both your tv tuner and bm54 and it can get done together.

Had this upgrade done last week having read all the positive comments on this thread.

Great service from Baris......removed and upgraded both the tuner and BM54 on the spot and refitted it the same day.

Has made a noticeable difference to the sound quality, (ironically more noticeable with the roof down?) and the firmware update to get dynamic routing for sat nag is a useful addition.

My TV reception was reasonable with the original BMW bumper aerial but decided to have the aftermarket ones fitted which are even better.

Anyone considering this mod rest assured, Baris knows his stuff!

Excellent upgrades you had done last week

My reception in my area is sometimes too good. Although your bumper aerials worked well, it just shows they arent good enough, when you go elsewhere.

The aerials I sent you are sleek, small and doesnt stick out.

With the roof down, you tend to have the music louder, than with the roof down, or even stationary. So now it can handle it better, and you can enjoy your tunes on the motorway

I have done a few for Norway. It works fine, but you should know, I think you have channels that you need to pay for? Or am I thinking of a different country?

Hey guys! Congrats Barris for your build! You did a smart thing there!

You advertise stereo sound. Do I need to send you my radio module for that? Or do you sell a modified cable?
And how do I switch to stereo? Do I need to switch to AUX audio source to have stereo sound?

The stereo sound can only be done on the eom analogue tuners, when upgraded to digital.

So what you say is that you don't need to upgrade also the BM54 radio module?
