Default Stop/start missing.

Greetings to the Collective.

I've got a 2010 E92 and the stop/start has been kicking in as expected up until recently. I got a low battery warning after it was sitting over the winter so I connected the Oxford Maximiser for a few days and it said that everything was good. The car starts perfectly and there are no other symptoms to indicate a battery problem except that the stop/start isn't working anymore. Any ideas, chaps?

Never understood the point of start/stop on a V8......just a gimmick to keep the bureaucrats happy. Mine has never worked even when Iíve done 4 hour journeys....and previous owner had just put in a new battery.

I think it can also be coded out, maybe it previous owner did it?

Battery, my stop start is doing the same on my mini due to it coming to end of its life.

Stop start has only kicked in maybe 5 times in the 18 months Iíve owned mine. Never really bothered to find out why as it seems a bit pointless on these cars, and I donít like standing on the brakes when stationary.

Yes, the car is facing battery/charging system troubles and you probably need a new battery to help your car function better. Look for the specification of the battery in the user manual of your vehicle.
And if you misplaced the user manual, you can get it online on the online website that offers user manuals for all car models. All these documents could be downloaded absolutely free from the website.

It's the battery. It's happened to me twice over the last 7+ years on my M3. A new battery fixed it each time.

It's also starting to affect my 335D as well, but a longish run sorts it out, for now.
