Can anyone put me in touch with him? Thanks in advance!

Default Throttle Actuators

I cant help you with the recon inquiry but can tell you I have just changed one my self this week. Are you aware they can fail in two different ways? Gear failure and electronics module failure. I assumed it was the gears this seems to be the most common. I contacted someone on this site who does recon units for the gear failure. He advised that at my mileage 35K it was more likely the electronics. After checking the code mine said Bank 1 failure, I swapped the electronics from Bnk1 to Bnk 2 and left the motor gear unit on the same side. My fault moved with the electronics, the only answer is a new complete unit. Friend in the trade couldn't source one for less than 700. Again after some searching and through google translate I got one from a parts company in Germany, 590. Not sure about the rules for advertising on here but can tell you if you need to know by PM.

Do any of you guys who had failed actuators know if there are any tell-tale signs that imminent failure could is likely?

Hi only the usual warning lights I'm afraid once they start playing up. It's always best to just get the gears upgraded (Alpina527 on here does them) before things start going wrong preventing big bills! Unless you have warranty lol

Just find out if it has had the actuators replaced and if not and the cars approaching 40k knock them down 1400 on the asking price and tell them why and you won't go far wrong !

You could check values and make sure they are performing correctly. Unsure about Inpa but I checked mine after they messed up and the values were way out.

The mosfet repair doesn't work. I've not found anyone who can repair the electrical covers successfully.

Don't mean to put a downer on on it but I got the same story from bba reman, the lass on the phone said they have fixed the electrical fault which was a transformer 3month of no problems then board's burnt out and could not fix it.

Hope this company are better than bba reman.

Just had the report read to me - 2 circuits showing signs of damage, when tested were both drawing far too much current, both circuits remade, tested and current back in spec. The repair comes with lifetime warranty also.
