Estoril with Grey. Did not like this one had it 5 days!!

Dakar Yellow

Estoril with Champus

Carbon Black with Red, I bought one of these brand new but can't find the pictures, anyway had it 11 days as hated the gearbox!!

Silver grey (ill chose my words carefully) CSL inspired.

Is this your first manual coupe Lee? I used to love my vert but when I bought my coupe the differnce was very apparent. I’ve also had 3 manuals and my previous 2 were notchy and didn’t like being cold or driven slowly. Thought it was just ‘one of those things’ Current one is lovely and smooth tho. How you finding it?

Had a few manuals, all been good to be honest, yes can be notchy at under zero degrees, but most are until a little heat in the oil, never really understood the negativity.

One thing is apparent, it is night and day difference compared to the hateful SMG

As time goes by though, the SMG will be the quirky gearbox associated with the car of its time, and will be just as desirable, but its shocking !!

Time will tell. Hasn’t really been the case for any other marques off the top of my head though. Early Porsche, Ferrari other exitcs with early ‘paddle shift’ boxes aren’t showing this trend. Never driven an smg myself. I think it isn’t so much the fact that they’re dated that gives hen the bad rep but they’re problematic and expensive to fix that gives them the bad rep and as cars get older this never bodes well.

Indeed, I am talking some time here, Circa 10 years plus.

You need to try a good V8 though mate, as good as the best example of E46 M3 is, the V8 is just better in every single way, and it looks better, they are so different in the metal, they just don't photo well.

The V8 will be the stand out classic of them all

V8’s only appeal to me as an engine and even that doesn’t sound as good as a high revving 4.0 na v8 should with the standard exhaust imo (probably get lynched for saying that) Looks are ok but just don’t do it for me. Would love to try one but can’t see myself owning one. Maybe if I drove one my feelings would change. Next car will likely be a 997 or a 240z haha in either instance the 46 and the mk2 are staying
