Only had it this evening driving it back. Needs map tweasking but the sound is glorious. I need some more time work it as went to a square 18 setup from staggered oem 19s so that's different.

Once the final map is on I'll comment more. But add o far so good

Do I think it is worth it? The sound is wicked. So so far, yes.

It's nice to have things that look good as well as function.
Not for the silly money Karb or Evolve charge.

Hardly the same as comparing it to the car itself. Itís an airbox inside an engine that gets opened when you clean it or check the oil.

My cheaper one still has a decent finish on it and is the loudest out of them all which is why we all get these airboxes in the first place

I've previously had a geoff steel version 1 airbox running a map sensor and csl clone ecu, It was loud but quite jerky when taking off at low revs and shifting gears.

I now have an evolve airbox running a map sensor along with a map from m3carbon (mike), the car is running perfectly, perfect idle, no jerkiness or jumping, I actually believe this map has made the car run better than the csl I had a year ago.

Getting SS exhaust put on and I can get them to check the clutch judder I've been getting when moving off.
Their man I spoke to reckons it's probably just clutch adaptations that need clearing instead of a new clutch, but it's on 75k miles on factory clutch so fingers crossed.

I know what you're saying mate but I'm not sure it's only just to get the loudest sounding box for me mate- it's that specific csl sound and also with the right map and exhaust setup I'd like to be sure it's providing some gains too.

It's the reason why I wouldn't just throw on a £200 eBay backbox on at the other end purely for the loudness

At the end of the day all boxes produce the same BHP and noise so you pays your money and makes your choice.

Yes the OEM, Evolve and Karbo boxes look better but £500-2000 seams a lot for under bonnet bling

I went for GSR with map sensor . Originally had Evolve map but had stutter so would not recommend their Alpha N
