Default Buying F10 M5 with non-bmw history

Hi all

Seen a nice lci f10 m5 for sale which has the right spec, just concerned a little about not having full dealer history.

It had running in service at 824miles at BMW and had 4 services since all at indy or selling garage. There is only a stamped book, and no invoices to go with it. The car is for sale at a garage in NI, and wanted to check everything before going over.

Should I be concerned?

Thanks

Given the fact there's loads available. I would buy another.

^^^^^ wise words here ^^^^

Even if considerably cheaper I wouldn’t entertain it personally.

Takes someone special to take a new car to an indy. How bad must the BMW dealer be

I bought a fully specced 335i before it was 1 owner and really low mileage. Bear in mind in 2008 list was knocking on for £50k on this car with its spec, the guy used an Indy.

Service book was stamped every year by an indy apart from first service. Car gave nothing but grief.

I got rid in the end.

It ran so hot you couldn't touch the plastic engine cover and it was drinking oil at an alarming rate.

Was told it had been serviced at bmw indy’s

I was going to try and chase the history with the garage, McMullan auto services was one, I’ve not heard of them as not based around there

That's a decent spec M5 tbf, some expensive options on that one.

Adaptive LED's is the only big option I see on the list and on a car of its value new it isn't game changing.

B and O is a big option.

Multi function seats, adaptive leds, surround view cameras , comfort access, soft close doors, 20's is prob 5k of options, just missing at least Harmon Kardon then its pretty much the main options you want on M5. But the non bmw service history is a non starter for me.

Spend nearly 80-90k new and don't service it at the dealers nor obtain a service pack?! Walk away.

I must of been really lucky with mine, had a 6MT 08 for 2 years and touch wood was faultless, it did have FBMWSH if that made any impact

Yes you definitely want full service history from a shower of useless thieving twunts that barely know their own cars

Seriously though I would want a decent pile of invoices and receipts if it was services outside a dealership and therefore tricky to verify.
