Was with them for over 15 years, they always matched the best quote I could get year on year, then my premium went from 350 to 1800 and the guy said there was nothing they could do about it. I did everything I could to stay but he said there was only one provider willing to quote and that was that. Went on the best comparison deal and got it with a proper company for 325. I won't ever go back to them after that

In the middle of getting more quotes.

"specialist" insurers so far have just given me the run around with the whole "give us a try!" and then come back with.. "we can't come anywhere near your current quotes, sorry".

I'm trying a couple of brokers that insured me on the TVR a few years back to see what they come back with, if not, its over to Admiral

Update.. OK so far I wasn't able to use the specialist broker that I used for my tvr as they don't cover m3s (I guess they are not that rare/exotic nor a true classic), but Chris Knott were so far able to beat my cheapest quote by 20 and match the excess.

Bit of a minefield really.

I used to use Adrian Flux to insure an 80's Chevrolet Pickup (before I saw the light and starting driving BMW's...), they were good for a number of years, but one renewal come back nearly three times the previous years! The customer services team were useless and said it was all down to the increase in insurance tax?! I haven't tried them again since - I tend to stick with comparison sites as it's easy to switch to get a better price!
