Default 2011 Jaguar XKR

The replacement for my E92 M3:

I was surprised that the XKR was not that much more expensive than an M3 when new. Considering the XKR has active dampers, heated and cooled seats and front parking sensors as standard; the M3 had none of those.

I find it to be much more refined, the interior is much nicer and there are more features like heated front windshield and heated steering wheel.

Being supercharged the V8 AJ-V8 GEN III R engine produces quite a bit more power than the M3 at 510hp, and as such I have found it much quicker than the M3.

The gearbox is a normal autobox, but the shift times are pretty much the same as the DCT, and being a normal autobox normal driving is much smoother.

Not sure if the two cars are in the same class as such but unfortunately I am finding the XKR a far superior car.

Nice car.

Lots of value in these and they feel special, more so than the F Type i think.

Can be easily modded to 550 plus and to make an even better noise if you are so inclined.

Enjoy.

Why is it unfortunate you prefer your new car to your old car?

Well it made me realise just how disappointed I was with the E92 M3.

Unfortunately someone ran into the back of me last week so the rear bumper and diffuser need some repairs.

These things make my M6 look economical. Fast cars, but the drink a lot of fuel.

Enjoy mate.

Lovely looking car. Always had a soft spot for this particular GT.

Although the 6HP26 is a good box, I just couldn't live with a sports car with an autobox And thus stopped looking at XKRs and bought the M3. But in a way, it wasn't such a bad move as only the 4.2 was in my budget at the time.

Nice car, I still look at these, great value machines, but a bit more of a 6 series / AMG rival to be fair. Don't share your views on the interior as I found them very bland. Enjoy though, I think the novelty will wear off, once you get past the new car, new smell so to speak, I did.

It's been about 5 months and I still like it.

To be honest, the E92 M3 was the perfect description of novelty wearing off, and that was after about 5 minutes.

I have had 2 XKR's and they have both been great.

I found them not that bad on fuel,Certainly better than my V10 M5 with similar power.

I have always got one eye on the market for a French blue XKRs
