To be fair. He test drove a dog. Turns out its and ex-Stable lease test car from the photos. Theyve got a YouTube video with it featured. Probably not had much TLC in the short time they had it id wager.

It's my mates car - was just very impressed with the pace of it...build quality seemed good. Just a shame you cannot switch between 2wd and 4wd...

Wanted one before I chopped in for the CP but couldn't get a good deal. Great cars and very fast, mind you Yas Man had one for a few months and he is now back in a speed yellow M4. Is it a case when the outright speed where's off you get bored or is it BMW M cars are just too darn good

There is pleasure to be had in extracting the ponies from a M car whilst the rear end is wiggling and each drive is hence quite unique.

However I've found the problem with 4wd is that you can virtually get 100% out of it whenever you want, which makes things a little boring and less exciting...

I don't think I could give a better answer than that.

I would agree that the Audi S/RS cars in particular give you that feeling.

The newer AWD systems in the latest M5 and E63 are in my experience a lot more fun and in Sport or DSC off you can really make the back of the car move around. Then there is the ability in both to switch to 2WD only which really keeps you on your toes !

Given their Quattro heritage I doubt we will see Audi produce such a system.

Went for a Porsche experience day and got given a 4 GTS. could not manage to get the back end out, even on one of their hill climbs with constant water being sprayed and full traction control off ! Instructor even said Id take you to the section to do doughnuts but completely pointless in a 4 wheel drive car.

As others have said, will give you immense confidence but can get a bit dull.
