Hey Emy - I have 7.5k before an Insp 2 but rang round a few stealers the other day - ranged from 1k (Sytner Harold Wood) upwards.....tried Park Lane (Battersea), Berry Chiswick and Fairfields Southend all a little more expensive.
BUT - Fairfields did start off at 1.3k and came down to match Sytner when pushed a little on the 4 yr+ scheme which he said doesn't include M's but knocked £300 straight off!
Still not seen anything under a bag though - but they all seem open to matching prices so guess its best to get on the phone, but have your chassis number as they love that rather than registration plate......
Sytner offered a "check" for £39 which would go over everything from suspension, brakes, fluids, to subframe and all sorts inbetween - a sort of pre-inspection which I thought was ok for a stealer..........

Mate i would use Munich Legends, their stamp in your service book is equally on par with the bmw dealer network and imo the work and customer service is much better

the £39 pound check is rubbish just another way to sqeeze a bit more out of you.

inpection 2 is £649 at synter oldbury get your local stealer to match it

Hi, I hope it's alright for me to post here. Some of you who move through the forums may have come across my name before, hopefully for good reasons over bad!
I've noted that a lot of the M3cutters get quotes from Sytner, mainly from our two London based dealerships, but that we aren't always the most competitive, this is something that I'd like to spend some time looking into.

Unfortunately you are correct in that we don't offer a price match offer on BMW M power vehicles, but that isn't to say that we won't consider the quotations that you have received from elsewhere.

When you say "consider other quotations....." does that mean on a case by case basis? I am looking for an insp2 and want to keep dealer history as it's not even 5 years old yet, but considering a near double price for the same work would appreciate a more competitive quote?

I completely understand, we do currently look at "deals" on a case by case basis. I can't guarantee our offers will be the best, but we'll certainly put in our best effort.
Hopefully Baris won't mind me saying this, but if you're stuck please feel free to send me an email (annekasanghera@sytner.co.uk), I'm based at Sytner Chigwell.

Thanks for all your replies, much appriciated!

As for Munich Legends, well i think they have more knowledge on the M's then stealers but as i have fbmwsh i'd prefer to keep it that way..

I'm Sytner's dedicated forum rep but I spend most of my time in parts and service.

Sytner Chigwell gave me a good quote for my Inspec 1 a few months back, they made the effort to show they wanted the work which I appreciated. In the end I got a good quote from Coopers Sevenoaks which is on the way to my parents so got them to do it.

Emy I'd be delighted to get you a price, I'll speak with workshop control tomorrow to see what we're able to do and then I shall let you know.

Markos thank you for the kind review

If you can get to Murketts in Huntingdon, excellent service at my inspection 2 in April, and VERY competitive (2-day job, including valve clearances, gear oil, diff etc, nothing missed out).

Was at Munich Legends today for an intro and look around and Stuart quoted me the following for an E46 M3:

Oil service and safety check £190
Inspection I £440
Inspection 2 £580

Seemed a LOT lower than I had read about previously.

Jeez that's half the price quoted from sytners around here for the insp 2.... Surely a dealer stamp can't cost £500???

I thought Munich Legends was accepted as being as good as a dealer stamp?!?

Accepted as being "as good as" by people that know them etc, but some buyers only see the dealers stamp as being acceptable...... Ridiculous when most stealers have no clue when they throw apprentices at a service... Wod rather have M experience working on my car than a 18 yr old, but I also want to sell soon and a dealer stamp is a good selling point when so many M's are for sale....!
