wanted to buy 19" genuine wheels

Can anyone recommend the best place to buy a new set of original wheels for my e46 M3 please.
Have had my originals refurbished at lespons but the aluminium is starting to fail again and so have decided to get a new set.
Would appreciate any help and advice please.
Thanks

You can't get them new even from bmw now. They stoped making them few years ago. Bmw used to charge over £3.5k for a new set!!!
I do have a brand new set though which have never been fitted to a car before but they're not for sale. I was very luck to find them. I must say they were very expensive so I think it's best you get some new csl wheels as they last longer

The only place youíll be able to buy a brand new set is from a main dealer, and if they can get a set, youíre probably looking at around £2k.

Would be better to find a used set in OEM finish, needing a refurb.... i.e. preferably a set which hasnít been diamond cut before. The M badge recesses will therefore still be deep.
Then get them metal-polished to a mirror finish, and apply maxprotect v3 to seal the finish. Wonít deteriorate like diamond cut, and looks amazing!

Thatís what I, and many others have done

How do you lot get them mirror polished like this without DIY??
Does any wheel refurb place even offer this??

I rang every single place near me in the northwest and all flatly refused.

Each just went nah you can't leave them unlaquered as will just tarnish.

After I insisted I would seal them myself they still refused

Mine are powder-coated shadow chrome but deep recess and plants meat left in them I'm sure.

The only place I know for sure who will polish these rims properly is Pure Klas in Coventry. May be worth contacting if you canít find anyone else locally? http://www.pureklas.co.uk/

I was told they cost over £3.5k from bmw including the vat.
Another option is what you mentioned, polished wheels but if diamond cut ones didn't last long for the op I doubt the polished wheels would last longer as they're not the type of wheels you'd want to use winter time with salt on the road.

Cheers bud- it's funny you say that;
The last person I rang was Pure Klass as their old website comes up every time on Google when I searched polished wheels e46.
It's a mob nr and when I rang it sounded like a guy who basically does them DIY in his spare time as he wanted them for over 2 weeks at £120/ wheel..
I want to get a set of Chris' reps for winter but might just get them for this summer so I can have these sent off
Sorry to hijack your thread OP:muttley:

Thanks

Thank you for the replies everyone.
Just tried my main dealer and they quoted £2650.00 inc vat, apparently they are still available ?

I had hoped to be able to find them cheaper than this . Notice that there are some on ebay but I have no idea how to tell if they are original or reproduction.

It is a problem. Lepsons did a great job but only 17 months later and the aluminium is failing again. Not the laquer but the ally underneath. So, do I pay for a new set, or keep getting them refurbed until they can't be done anymore ?

suggestions welcome.

What are you planning to do with those perished old Contis when you get them out of the bags ?

£2,650 for wheels that will last 10yrs + (if you don't power-wash them) sounds like a fair deal to me ...just don't curb them !

Itís quite easy to tell the difference, if you know what youíre looking for... OEM finish is very smooth, almost mirror-like but not quite; mirror polished is very shiny and reflective. Diamond-cut will have fine lathe-cut lines in it, a bit like an LP record. See these pics to compare the difference: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showpo...3&postcount=24

Ah ok, in the case I apologise as I was told I couldn't get them from bmw, i was told a lie and lied to you too.
If you diamond cut the wheels I think you can do that up to 3 times?

E3 PSB 12th February 2018 10:50 PM

Great thread....

After years of deliberating and my local main dealer (BMW, not a Heisenberg character) telling me that the original diamond cut wheels could only ever be cut once in there life (grrrrrr) I decided to invest in a set of CSLís from CM Wheels for winter, I hope to give my original set to CM wheels soon to get mirror polished and get them max3 protected for summer use (not a daily) can highly recommend CM wheels if they are an option. Good luck with whatever you decide.
